ASG Students Recognized at GHS Honors Breakfast

May 19th, 2017 | Student Spotlight

On Wednesday May 17th, ASG students Ohm Wattanakanajana, Peter Zhang, Ander Wang, Alex Zhu, Yvette Shao, and Mary Matuszewska were honored for their outstanding academic achievements at the 21st Annual Junior-Senior Honor Roll Breakfast at Thiel College.  This event, organized by the Greenville High School Parent Teacher Organization recognizes those students who have consistently displayed excellence in their scholarly studies.  The event was hosted by Dr. Mary Theresa Hall of the Thiel English department and Mr. Brian Tokar, Greenville High School principal.  After breakfast, the students were treated to a keynote address by local entertainer Brad Allen Morgan who instructed them in the four lessons which have guided him through his life: be genuine because this gives one more opportunities in life, one must give to receive, express gratitude every day, and finally that one must always grow.  This last and most important lesson, Mr. Morgan illustrated by comparing the students to an apple seed which must be planted and nurtured before it will bear fruit.  The event concluded with the students taking group pictures with some of their favorite GHS teachers, including American Government teacher Mr. Zipay. Congratulations to all of our excellent scholars on receiving this tremendous honor!
