Overview

American Scholar Group (ASG) Summer-in-America camps provide international students an immersive educational and cultural experience of life in Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio.

Who is this camp for?

ASG camps are designed for students in Grades 6 to 11 (12-17 years old) and are especially meaningful for international students thinking about studying in America

Private Camp Option:

Groups may inquire about private and customizable camp programs in any 3-Week period throughout June – August

Every day, students will have three components centered on the theme and subject of the day:

All three components are designed to provide each student a meaningful context that maximizes their learning experience.

The American Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the court cases that have shaped American history

Visit the Mercer County Court House and perform a mock trial

Students write their own constitution describing laws they would make if they could create their own nation

Days 17 – 21: Washington DC

& New York City Excursion

Summer Camp students will have the opportunity to experience two major U.S. cities during Summer Camp: Washington D.C & New York City

Explore the concept of American democracy and learn how this ideal has influenced American history while touring unique sites in Washington, D.C!
