Summary

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Confer with parents, teachers, administrators, and other professionals to discuss student’s progress
  • Resolve behavioral, academic, and other problems,
  • Determine priorities for students and their resource needs
  • Counsel students to help them understand and overcome personal, social, or behavioral problems affecting
  • their educational or vocational situations
  • Counsel students regarding program selection, class scheduling and registration, school adjustment, truancy, study habits, and career planning
  • Instruct students in career development techniques
  • Evaluate students’ abilities, interests, and personality characteristics, using tests, records, interviews, or professional sources
  • Review transcripts to ensure that students meet graduation requirements and write letters of recommendation
  • Provide students with information on topics regarding admission requirements, financial aid opportunities, trade and technical schools, and apprenticeship programs
  • Refer students to degree programs based on interests, aptitudes, or educational assessments;
  • Establish and supervise peer counseling and peer tutoring programs

Qualifications:

Digital Marketing Specialist

Summary

American Scholar Group is seeking a Digital Marketing Specialist to join our team. This position has multiple openings

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop marketing strategies.
  • Integrate digital with established marketing platforms.
  • Manage digital marketing initiatives social medias, search engines, email, digital media, and broadcast.
  • Maximize search engine marketing (SEM) impact through ongoing optimization of paid search (PPC) and digital advertising campaigns.
  • Collect and analyze data on customer demographics, preferences, needs, and buying habits to identify potential markets and factors affecting demand.
  • Collaborate with regional and partner marketers to syndicate content that resonates with international audience.
  • Interface with creative, marketing communications, content creators, program developers, sales, and corporate strategy to develop marketing programs.

Residential Counselor

OVERVIEW:

Do you have a passion for international youth and making a positive impact in their lives? If yes, consider becoming a Residential Counselor at American Scholar Group (ASG)! ASG Residential Counselors (RC) are direct care givers who live on-site in student dormitories. They form part of teams that serve as role models for international students and help manage safe, welcoming and friendly housing environments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Bachelor Degree (Any major)
  • English Language Proficiency (Speaking & written communication)
  • Pass all background checks
  • Passion for and experience working with high school aged youth
  • Capable of problem-solving
  • Must be able to live in one of ASG’s dormitories for the duration of the high school year

Preferred:

  • Drivers’ License
  • Additional skill sets such as maintenance skills, cooking skills, and any foreign (preferably Mandarin, Korean or Vietnamese) language skill sets are welcome

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as respectable role models for international students.
  • Guide and encourage students to live a healthy lifestyle.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership.
  • Teach international students’ healthy habits to foster independence and confidence.
  • Maintaining a welcoming, presentable, and clean housing environment for students.
  • Ensuring the safety of the students.

  • Perform daily checks of student rooms, facilities, and common spaces.
  • Monitor daily physical, emotional, and mental welfare of international students.
  • Oversee student’s day and provide care upon their return from classes.
  • Facilitate the use of student services (coordinating among Transportation, Food Services, Maintenance, Academic and Advising, and Records departments).
  • Communicating instructions & Making Announcements relevant to student services & polices
  • Report any maintenance and housekeeping issues to the Residential Manager.
  • Accompany students to medical checks when necessary.
  • Oversee administrative duties such as report filing, disciplinary reports, request filing, student paperwork, etc. where necessary for daily housing management
  • Engage in and monitor students’ social progress. Compose reports to student advisers
    and country liaisons when necessary.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist and, on the occasion, complete tasks within other departments (transportation, academics)
  • Promote and coordinate extra-curricular activities, clubs, and events with Student Engagement
  • Serve as chaperones on student activities events when necessary
  • If a RC has been given a position outside of Student Life department (eg. RA has cooking skill sets, they would be asked to liaison with Food Services), they would be responsible, to the degree of their involvement within the other department, for duties within the department; not limited to administrative, operational, logistical and budgeting.

Residential Assistant
OVERVIEW

Do you enjoy working with youth to shape their lives in a positive direction?  Would you enjoy managing or helping to manage a large-scale home or residential hall and fostering family values for those in your care?  If yes, consider becoming a Residential Assistant (RA) at the American Scholar Group, based out of Greenville, Pennsylvania.

American Scholar Group RA’s live and work in residential houses with up to 8 international students or in dorms with up to 40 international students.  RA’s are the direct care-givers and role models for the students, overseeing their daily lives.\

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primary objective is to provide safe, clean, and conducive environment for our students.
  • Guide and encourage students to live a healthy lifestyle. Provide proper loving care and leadership.  A RAs must live a respectable lifestyle with consistency and discipline.
  • Provide meal to students as needed.
  • Responsible for administrative duties of home/dorm management; including budgeting for all expenditures (groceries and outings, etc) with regular reporting to the Manager.
  • Oversee the wellbeing of students including the start of their day (healthy breakfast, appropriate dress and getting to school on time) as well as upon their return from classes (healthy dinners, homework assistance, and going to bed at an appropriate time
  • Engage in and support with students’ academic progress. Compose reports to student advisors and country liaisons.
  • Report immediately to supervisor in case of any accident involving students, or any damage is noticed in or around the residential property.

In addition to the general responsibilities, Full-time, live in RA’s are also responsible for:

  • Grocery shop for the house on a weekly basis within budget
  • Clean and supervise students to help with basic chores of the house
  • Keep a record of student’s daily activities and report to the Residential Manager on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Report any maintenance issues and housekeeping issues to the Residential Manager

Full-time Shift RA’s may either live-in or live-out of the dormitory; depending on the need. They are also responsible for the care and well-being of the students, and have similar responsibilities that varies:

  • Work either a day-time or night-time shift position on weekdays and/or weekends
  • Maintain a daily log of student’s activities and report to the Residential Manager.
  • Report any maintenance issues and housekeeping issues to Residential Manager.

*RAs may be required to perform duties other than those given in the job description. The specific duties and responsibilities may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibility entailed.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • US driver’s license holder.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Provide or obtain background checks3
  • Observe all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Responsible to promote and safeguard the welfare of students.
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s and school’s Child Protection Policy statement at all time.
  • During course of carrying out the duties of the role, if the job holder becomes aware of any actual or potential risks to the safety or welfare of children, s/he must report any concerns to the supervisor immediately.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with children and adolescent youth
  • Capable of handling emergency responses. including medical.

Junior Accountant

Summary

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Accountant and CFO whenever needed
  • Reviews investigates and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
  • Performs general ledger maintenance
  • Assists in preparation and analysis of key performance indicators
  • Prepare monthly closings, financial statements, and analysis
  • Reconciles and maintains balance sheet accounts
  • Prepares analysis of balance sheets accounts for the different intercompany reporting and roll forward schedules as requested
  • Assists with year-end closings; including working with intercompany closure
