Meet Our Schools: Extra-Curriculars at Warren JFK

While they excel at academics, all of our partner high school’s in the Youngstown, Ohio area offer many opportunities to make friends, explore current and new interests, develop talents and practice skills, and strive for achievement outside of the classroom.

Leadership Activities

At John F. Kennedy Catholic School, a.k.a. Warren JFK, you can pursue opportunities for academic excellence and developing your leadership potential through student organizations such as the National Honor Society (NHS) and Student Government.

The NHS promotes it four pillars of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character for those students invited to join based on their GPA and reputation

Those same qualities are also valuable for taking on role in student government, yet like any elected office popularity and strong campaigning skills are essential. Both opportunities will serve students well on their university applications.

Athletic Activities

Being an Eagle on the court, track, or field offers an entirely different level of comradery and access the unique experience of American high school sports. You will have the chance to learn lessons from winning and losing as well as in sportsmanship and perseverance that can last a lifetime.

Fine & Performing Arts Activities

You can express yourself through singing with the Choir, or use your voice to practice argument and persuasion in the Speech & Debate Club. You can also express yourself in print while gaining valuable skills in writing, editing, graphic design, and presentation layouts through the school Newspaper or Yearbook

Service Activities

Community service never loses its value, neither to those who give nor those who receive. The benefits ripple out from both giver and receiver to the community at large.

Special Interest Clubs

There are also interest clubs such as Ski Club and the Wolves of Warren Business Club. The Ski Club loves to hit the slopes for fun and exercise, as well as the exhilaration of racing downhill.

The Wolves of Warren, on the other hand, have hosted guest speakers from the local business community and held entrepreneurial contests for students at their school.

Lower Campus Activities

At Warren JFK, while there is much to do at the Upper Campus (9-12th Grade) there are also activities for students at the Lower Campus (6-8th Grade). While something like the English Festival may sound intimidating, a former student from Vietnam one first place! These events are a great opportunity for making friends and gaining confidence.
